MODALITIES

SPORTS: Improve overall athletic performance, when properly applied, counteracts waste build-up in muscle tissue, helps prevent strains, spasms, pain, and inflammation while increasing blood flow, stretching muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and can reduce fatigue and healing time by up to 50%.

DEEP TISSUE: modality of massage that focuses on releasing tension and realigning the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. While not always the most relaxing form of massage, deep tissue work is especially helpful for chronic pain associated with the neck, upper and lower back, shoulders, and leg tightness.

REFLEXOLOGY: Work done strictly on the client’s feet and hands, reflexology is the art of working pressure points that have been linked to various organs and structures in the body. Applying compression and direct pressure to these points has been thought to promote beneficial changes in their corresponding body parts.

SWEDISH: The most common form of massage, Swedish is perfect for those looking for relaxation and stress relief. A combination of slow and gentle movements promotes blood circulation while reducing tension and anxiety.

THAI: Sometimes referred to as “assisted yoga,” Thai massage combines unique stretching techniques with massage to increase flexibility and range of motion, relieve fatigue and joint pain, calm the nervous system, and promote relaxation.

PRENATAL: A mother-to-be experiences many discomforts as her body goes through the physical and hormonal changes to accommodate a little one. Prenatal, or side-lying massage is very similar to a Swedish massage, keeping a lighter pressure and adjusted positioning to decrease the mother’s discomfort.
